Help Panels
Help Panels take you through each stage of the methodology and give useful tips on what needs to be done to gather the information to prepare your business continuity plan. The Help Panels are available from the Plan Wizards, your training guide to business continuity planning.
An example from the Business Continuity Planner and Resource Recovery Planner Plan Wizard.
In the Plan Wizard left mouse click on Plan Structure and in the right hand pane you will see a Help panel appear explaining what is contained in the section and what part of the methodology it covers.
Left mouse click on the plus sign of the Plan Structure section and it will open showing sub-sections.
Left mouse click on the sub-section title, for example Locations, and in the right hand pane you will see a Help panel appear providing specific information about Locations, what the term means and how they are used.
Left mouse click on the plus sign Location section and it will open showing sub-sections.
Left mouse click on the sub-section title, for example Location Structure, and a window will appear on the right hand side split into two (top list and bottom list). A Help panel is also displayed (top of window) explaining about the lists (you may need to use the Scroll Bar to read all of the text).
Comprehensive on-line help is available when using Strategy. The 'Context Sensitive Help' explains how to use the item highlighted.
Continuing our example.
Press the F1 key to display the context sensitive help. This provides Help on how to use the Locations lists. Read this on-line, or print it for reference by clicking on the Print button.
At the detailed level, What's This? help is available. This explains what a selected item is.

Right mouse click on a location, for example Alpha House in the top list, and a short cut menu will appear. Select Properties and the Locations Properties dialog will appear.
Right mouse click on the Parent item, and What's This? will appear.
Left mouse click on What's This? and the associated Help will appear, explaining what Parent means.
